| Night Hikes in Jasper Interested in trying a night hike in Jasper?
In most cases it is best to be back at the trailhead before sundown unless overnighting it, but night hikes in Jasper do offer another great way to stimulate the senses.
Whether visiting, or a resident hiker in Jasper; probably the best introduction to night hikes would be with a larger group.

Winter Ice Walk (Hike) - Jasper Maligne Canyon
Jasper's Ice Walk or Hike through the Canadian Rockies most interestng canyon, the Maligne Canyon; is certainly a must. Hiking Maligne canyon at night is also spectacular, but it is suggested to seek a hiking guide for safety.
 
*Make sure you have crampons or ice walking gear fixed to your hiking boots, as well as hike poles for this interesting adventure.

Being Prepared for Jasper Hiking Conditions The Jasper townsite may not show it, but Jasper hikers venturing on altitude seeking hikes should be prepared for all season conditions now.
While it was a fascinating scene at 7am on August 27, concern was raised for hikers who might be out on hikes like Jasper's famous Skyline Trail.
It is hard to imagine if you have never hiked on top of Jasper's mountains, but even on beautiful days, the wind is almost always very strong. At this time of year, this pic illustrates what you might have to be prepared to endure while on some of Jasper's most beautiful hikes.
| Featured Jasper Hike - Pyramid and Athabasca Overlooks Pyramid Lake and Athabasca Overlook hike is a favorite short hike of ours. The view for the work performed is balanced in the view's favour. Hiking Distance: It is about 1.5 - 2.5km., to the lookouts. About a 6km hiking loop. Hiking Time: Consider about 2 hours to fully appreciate this hike and view.

The trailhead to Pyramid Overlook can be found by taking Connaught Drive to Cedar Avenue and going west two blocks. The street name changes to Pyramid Avenue. After two blocks it becomes Pyramid Lake Road, which you will follow, going 5.6 km to the parking area at the far end of Pyramid Lake Road.

Hiking Time: Including this extra addition, this great Jasper hike can take anywhere from 2 to 4 hours to reach the Bald Hills true summit. Hiking down will obviously be less, but be careful; a rolled ankle, etc., could make this favorite hike turn into an unpleasant adventure.
